The residents of a ramshackle Salvador tenement house engage in riotous conversation, romance and lustful activity in this lively and energetic film. The tenants conspire against each other invoking African gods and Catholic saints as dark secrets are revealed amidst the madness of the last day of Carnival. Samba reggae provides the pulse behind the soulful soundtrack by Davi Moraes and Caetano Veloso.
